Here’s a friendly reminder that the application deadline for Summer Place 2026 is January 30, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. The parent letter includes details on the application process and timeline for the lottery-based Summer Place 2026 Program at the University of Hartford. You will be notified of your application status by Friday, February 13th.
The eesmarts™ Student Contest, sponsored by Energize Connecticut℠ and gas companies, invites K-12 students in Connecticut to demonstrate their energy knowledge through posters, poems, essays, or images based on specific prompts. Students require entry forms and parent consent. All projects should be completed by individual students only and parents must register and submit. An awards ceremony will be held in May where each grade level finalists receive prizes of $400, $250, or $100.

Hello, Metacomet Families,
As long as the temperatures stay above freezing, we would like to have our students get fresh air and go outside for recess. We will allow students to walk in the snow only if they have their winter books and snow pants on. If they do not, students will only be allowed to play on the playscape and the blacktop. We do not want them getting their clothes wet. Thank you!

Hello Metacomet families! Mark your calendars! On Saturday, January 10 the Prosser Library has an author visit from Alan Katz from 12:00-1:00 PM. Please register at BPLCT.org. Also, The UCONN Health Parent Support & Education Clinic is hosting a free parenting group for caregivers of children ages 4-8 on how to be an "emotion coach" for your child. This is an 8 session group that meets on Thursdays from 5:30-6:30 PM beginning January 22. Registration is required at FARR@uchc.edu or call 860-351-7048. Have a great weekend!
